When installed in the proper door, select Western Reflections doorglass products meet regional ENERGY STAR® thermal performance standards as defined by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). Find out more about energy efficiency specifications in your area. Local and state codes are developed using ENERGY STAR® guidelines but may be more or less stringent.
Thermal performance of door glass is measured by two properties: resistance to heat flow and resistance to sunlight warmth.
Energy efficiency ratings for Western Reflections doorglass products vary by door construction, size of doorglass, and the materials of the doorglass assembly.
The ratings of participating entry door manufacturers can be found in the Thermal Performance Database. Contact Western Reflections for more information about which entry door and doorglass combinations meet ENERGY STAR® requirements.
The U.S. standards include criteria for air leakage. Swinging doors cannot exceed 0.5 cfm/ft2.
