Sound Suppression (STC)

STCicon Select Western Reflections doorglass styles reduce sound transmission from the outside, often a desired feature in densely populated areas.

Western Reflections doorglass has been rated for Sound Transmission Class (STC). STC is expressed in decibels (dB) and is used to measure a building material's ability to reduce sound. Laboratory testing measures the resistance of partitions such as walls, windows, or doors to the passage of sound.

Western Reflections conducted third party lab testing on a range of 22" x 64" doorglass configurations. Western Reflections Severe Weather doorglass achieved an STC of 37 for clear glass and 38 for decorative glass. Our triple-pane Harmony™ blinds with grilles between glass also offer great sound protection. They have an STC rating of 35 with the slats open, and 36 with the slats closed.
